WHO IS IT ?

From the orginal four teams of the inaugural season, the league has grown to 10 teams and has a growing pool of over 800 members, aged between 20 and 59 years old. The players are residents of Montreal and the greater Montreal area. The pool of players differs greatly in terms of education, work field and lifestyle, but they all appreciate the camaraderie and the feeling of belonging and the community that you find in our hockey league. The LFA puts emphasis on recruiting quality members, rather than only choosing players for their hockey skills.

WHEN IS IT ?

Games are held on Saturdays at Collège Notre-Dame arena in Montreal between 2:00 and 8:00 PM from September to May and on Sundays in our Satelitte division starting at 6pm. Our summer season goes from May to August between 5h30 and 10:00 PM at the same location. In the summer the LFA also as a south shore division with games on Monday nights between 7h30 and 10h30 at the Complexe Sportif Bell in Brossard. A variety of other games are held throughout the year like our Winter Classic, All-Star game and exhibition games against other leagues. Our All-Star team also represents the LFA locally and in tournaments around the world. Some of our games help non-profit organisations to raise funds for various causes, like we did for the Montreal Canadiens Children Foundation and Sun Youth during our last seasons.

WHAT ARE ITS PLANS ?

To solidify its status of reference in adult hockey leagues in Quebec and around the world through a continuous expansion, with the help of people who wants to make a difference in their community while using the marvelous unifying platform of hockey. The LFA Cup will become  the grand prize for which each winner in the different divisions will compete for. It is without a doubt the most beautiful amateur sport trophy in the world, a sort of Holy Grail for those who once dreamt of playing professionnal hockey. The creation of an international tournament is also in our plans for the future as well as our own sports complex. “Build it and they will come...”
