SUBSTITUTE PLAYER GUIDE
2026 SUMMER EDITION
The LFA Substitute Player Guide is a tool to help you find your way among our different programs offered. It is not based on letter calibration because they are too many differences from one league or region to another.
Here is a summary of our teams and divisions for the 2026 SUMMER season. Please note that teams may change divisions and arenas from one season to another.
We offer hockey for men and women, from beginners to very experienced players with the mission of creating an optimal experience for all, including centralized team management among other things.
The LFA offers competitive and recreational hockey but ALWAYS FRIENDLY. Troublemakers are not welcome.
You will find a direct link to register has a substitute player at the bottom of this page
Arenas where we play :
CENTRAL DIVISION
10 teams in 2 conferences (Saturday-Sunday)
[competitive – friendly]
“4 teams in the summer Sunday’s at 5:00 & 6:30 PM”
The Central division is our strongest division with some individuals having played high level hockey without being former professionals. While maintaining the LFA recipe as in all of our programs, each team is built with 3-4 levels of players who generally played (but not all) A to AAA and are mid-twenties to late fifties. The players are generally in good physical condition.
Saturday – CND – 1:00PM, 2:30PM, 4:00PM
Sunday - Verdun - 8:30 and 10:00PM
OUR TEAMS
SATELLITE DIVISION
6 TEAMS [competitive – friendly]
The Stellite division (previously known as the Challenge) is our second strongest division with some individuals also playing in the Central division. Generally a little slower than the latter, it offers a good level of play with also 3-4 levels of players per team. We also find players who have generally played (but not all) A up to AAA. Mid-twenties to late fifties, but generally a little older than in the Central division
Monday, Tuesday & Friday in Verdun 10PM
“Only Monday’s in the summer at 7:30 & 9:00 PM at CND & at 8:30 in Outremont”
OUR TEAMS
VINTAGE DIVISION
2 TEAMS* [Recreational / semi-competitive & friendly]
The LFA VINTAGE, open to those 49 and older, will be in its first season with an interesting proposition for those who particularly appreciate the social and friendly side of hockey while maintaining a competitive edge. It picks up where the pickup-style games leave off by adding an innovative formula to the team composition and schedule. Our goal is to recruit enough vintage players to grow to 4 and eventually 6 teams.
*49 years old is to emphasize the mature aspect of this division but we are not stuck on numbers while this division is not open to 20 and 30 year old’s
Monday - CND - 8:00
“Only Wednesday’s in the summer at 8:30 in Outremont”
OUR TEAMS
HERITAGE DIVISION
6 TEAMS [Recreational/competitive – friendly]
The Heritage division offers a recreational and competitive playing experience and has established itself as our development division in which younger players and veterans share their hockey heritage. The mindset remains more recreational and less focused on stats despite the presentation of a trophy at the end of the season. Some players played competitive hockey in their youth and others in recreational leagues, but all play in this division for the pleasure of the “game” more than for the statistics and trophies. Probably our most fun division !
Sunday – CND –1:00, 2:30 & 4:00 PM
“Only Friday’s in the summer at 6:30 & 8:00 PM & 9:30PM at CND”
OUR TEAMS

The LFA Club House is a cool proposal for those who particularly enjoy the social side of playing hockey. It picks up where pick-up style games end by adding a little twist to the “après match”. As they say, “membership has its privileges” :)
