CENTRAL

The Central Division is the first division of the LFA that started in 2013. It includes all the advantages of being part of the premier adult hockey league in Montreal and has a rich history of epic games, long standing friendships and the most imposing trophies in amateur hockey. While maintaining the LFA recipe of competitive and FRIENDLY games, there are players of different levels composing our teams with generally our best elements in this division. Once again for the 2025-2026 season we will have 12 teams with two separate conferences on Saturday and Sunday with 6 inter-conference games (including approximately 3 on the other conference’s ice) during the season and an inter-conference championship at the end of the calendar.

REC MIXED
2 groups, beginers welcomed !

The REC MIXED division offers men and women who want to PLAY FOR PLAY, the opportunity to do so together and practice our national sport in a RECREATIONAL setting. No statistics, championships or trophies to win. Simply an opportunity to play for the love of hockey in a structured environment with balanced and fair teams for everyone. The teams will change a few times during the season so you will be able to make new friends on and off the ice.

Watching hockey is good, but playing is even better!

HERITAGE

The Heritage division was created following the merger of the best elements of our recreational group and the veterans who played in the Central and Buzz divisions in the past. It offers a recreational and competitive playing experience and has also established itself as our development division in which younger players and veterans share their hockey heritage. The mindset remains more recreational and less focused on stats despite the presentation of a trophy at the end of the season. Some players played competitive hockey in their youth and others in recreational leagues, but all play in this division for the pleasure of the “game” more than for the statistics and trophies. Probably our most fun division!

SATELLITE

The LFA SATELLITE division will replace the Challenge division weeknights to allow our members to play on one of the most beautiful ice in town. It is made up of 6 teams who have a chance to win the Satellite cup, one of our biggest trophies. The Satellite program, offers the same competitive and FRIENDLY style of play as our other multi-team programs. It has individuals who also play in the Central division our highest caliber division. It offers a good level of play with also 3-4 levels of players per team. We also find players who have generally played (but not all) A up to AAA. Mid-twenties to late fifties, but generally a little older than in the Central division.

7AM BUZZ

7AM BUZZ is a new morning hockey program launching in the summer of 2023 that is perfect for early risers and those who want to play before or after work. This new recreational division for the love of the game is sure to win fans. For the 2023-2024 season we will be playing in the Verdun Auditorium on the most beautiful ice in town!

ROCKETTES

The LFA is proud to add a new addition to its range of programs, offering you the 100% women’s Rockettes Division in a recreational/competitive and always friendly setting. We want to democratize the sport so that more and more women join our ranks and can play hockey. Although they are welcome in all our programs, we want to offer them the opportunity to play among themselves in a division 100% dedicated to women's hockey.

This is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the sport and your friends!

**IMPORTANT: If we do not reach the 44 girls needed for 4 teams, with 33 registrations we will have 3 teams so one will skip its turn every 3 weeks. With fewer games in the season, the price will be reduced to $645 taxes included and $545 for goalies with all games played at 8:30 p.m.

LFA PICK-UP

The LFA Montreal pick-up is perfect for those who simply want to play for the love of the “game” and not for personal statistics or to win a championship trophy. The teams will change from week to week with the possibility of creating 4 balanced groups of 5 players for the summer (a fun tested formula) but small series 2 of 3 are to be expected to spice things up!

The intensity of play varies between recreational and competitive, but remains a friendly environment where everyone is welcome.

VINTAGE

The LFA VINTAGE, open to those 49 and older, will be in its first season with an interesting proposition for those who particularly appreciate the social and friendly side of hockey while maintaining a competitive edge. It picks up where the pickup-style games leave off by adding an innovative formula to the team composition and schedule. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the members to create a great team and post-game spirit. As a bonus, the coolest championship trophy on the planet, containing 20 liters of beer, will be awarded to the champions :)
