WHO IS IT ?

From the orginal four teams of the 2013-2014 inaugural season, the league has grown to 38 teams. It has a growing pool of over 1900 members, aged between 18 and 75 years old. The players are residents of Montreal and the greater Montreal area. The pool of players differs greatly in terms of education, work field and lifestyle, but they all appreciate the camaraderie and the feeling of belonging and the community that you find in our hockey league. The LFA puts emphasis on recruiting quality members, rather than only choosing players for their hockey skills.

WHEN IS IT ?

Games are held 6 days a week (soon 7/7) 51 weeks a year. You can visit each division’s section to know more about our schedule A variety of other games are held throughout the year like our Winter Classic, All-Star game and exhibition games against other leagues and countries. Our All-Star team also represents the LFA locally and in tournaments around the world. Some of our games help non-profit organizations to raise funds for various causes, like we did for the Montreal Canadiens Children Foundation , Sun Youth and Procure to name but a few.

WHAT ARE ITS PLANS ?

To solidify its status of reference in adult hockey leagues in Quebec and around the world through a continuous expansion, with the help of people who want to make a difference in their community while offering an optimal hockey experience to their members. With enough divisions of the same caliber across Quebec, the LFA Cup could become the grand prize for which each winner in the different divisions compete. It is without a doubt the most beautiful amateur sport trophy in the world, a sort of Holy Grail for those who once dreamed of playing professional hockey. The creation of an international tournament is also in our plans for the future as well as our own sports complex.
