ON THE THRESHOLD OF THE BIG GAME

like for every championship game we expect a big crowd to cheer the boys on and to support a good cause (photo joseph fleming)

Before crossing the doors of the Collège Notre-Dame arena Friday, the two teams taking part in the 2018 Grand Finale of the LFA will have had to overcome adversity to take a shot at the big prize. Both of them having given-up 3 goals in the third period of the semi-final game to force an overtime period. In front of the Tsunami of the opposition they were able to find the strength to get the big W in overtime which was the first time semi-final games were decided this way.

The Barbarians and the SimWell Torpedoes seemed destined to compete in our championship game because of two separate incidents that changed  their opponents' destiny or luck on Saturday, April 28th. I will talk about it more in my end of season article which will be published soon in the ARCHIVES section of our site under the tab LFA HISTORY.

As with every championship game, the LFA is partnering with a good cause to support the community and do its part in society. This year is no exception and we encourage all those who can not make it to our grand finale on Friday, to support the cause by making a donation (here). We are happy to be associated for the fourth year in a row with the Sun Youth Food Bank because people in need are hungry year-round, not just in the holiday season. Please be generous !!

It all comes down to the big game in which all our members wish to participate in. May the best team win and may both play a game they can be proud of.

Play to play and best of luck to both teams !
